Dr. Stephanie Stein Leite has practiced forensic and clinical psychology since 2002. Her career reflects sustained engagement in high-stakes evaluation, consultation, and professional education.
She earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from the University of Hartford, following graduate study at Boston University and undergraduate study at Carleton College. Her training included intensive clinical and forensic placements that shaped her early specialization in risk assessment and complex behavioral analysis.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Leite has served in leadership roles within professional psychological and threat management organizations including the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and the Connecticut Psychological Association. She has been actively involved in advancing standards of practice within forensic psychology and behavioral threat assessment communities such as as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Threat Assessment and Management. Her peers have recognized her contributions through leadership appointments and professional honors.
In addition to her applied work, Dr. Leite serves as an educator and mentor within doctoral-level forensic psychology programs such as Columbia’s Teacher’s College and the University of Hartford. She remains committed to bridging academic research and applied practice — ensuring that evolving knowledge informs real-world decision-making.
